As we had said in a previous post, the world has changed a lot in the last few decades. The population structure is changing and the most significant change is perhaps that we now have the largest generation ever of young people inhabiting our planet earth today. There are 1.8 billion young people in the world today, and a whopping 50% of the world’s population is under the age of 35.

Today July 11th is World Population Day. The theme for this year's World Population Day - "Investing in teenage girls", seeks to bring our attention back to the fact that a lot more has to be done to ensure that every teenage girl enjoys a safe and successful transition into adulthood and into a future with many opportunities for success.
